AOSAN
AOSAN 仙川店
Located a short walk from Sengawa Station, AOSAN Sengawa is a popular neighborhood bakery celebrated for its signature square loaves, bacon épi, and rich walnut dauphinois. Visiting early in the day is recommended.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A few minutes on foot from Sengawa Station, set quietly in a residential pocket, AOSAN Sengawa draws a steady stream of patrons seeking hearty, unpretentious bread. The compact shopfront displays a wide selection: the signature square Pullman-style loaves (kaku shokupan) that anchor its reputation, chewy bacon épi that yields deep savory flavor with every bite, and palm-sized AO bread crafted to highlight the natural character of the wheat. Crisp pretzels, sweet almond rolls, and pain au chocolat also fill the baskets, catering equally to simple morning toast and an afternoon sweet bite.
Beyond the daily loaves, the bakery shelf features notable baked sweets. Among them is the dauphinois, a traditional specialty inspired by France’s Dauphiné region. A crumbly sablé crust cradles roasted walnuts enveloped in dark, buttery caramel, making it a natural pairing for a cup of black coffee.
Sought-after items frequently sell out well before closing, making a morning or early afternoon arrival advisable if you have a specific loaf in mind. AOSAN Sengawa is open from 10:00 to 18:00 and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Keep in mind that payment is cash only.
